FOundER & CEO
A northeast native, Michael Basile, graduated from Boston University in 2004 with a degree in History and Secondary Education. He spent nearly a decade honing his leadership skills in the education and not-for-profit worlds before transitioning into the private sector, founding The Summit Investment Group, LLC.
Although he currently spends most of his time analyzing markets and trading stocks, he has a great appreciation for what he learned in his early years in the areas of entrepreneurship, cross-cultural intelligence, relationship and team building, recruitment, fundraising, public speaking, networking, and vision casting.
Mike lives in Dorado, Puerto Rico with his wife Vicky and their twin girls, Meadow and Sia. He enjoys running (2002 Boston Marathon finisher, 2012 New York Marathon finisher), skydiving, stand-up comedy, poker, golf, tennis, kitesurfing, and beach volleyball.
Vicky Basile fell in love with Latin American culture early in life. As her family hosted dozens of exchange students over the years, she developed a desire to travel and live abroad. She had the opportunity to study in Bolivia as a teenager, and later furthered her education in Costa Rica where she was also able to volunteer her time mentoring children and serving in an impoverished community.
She received her formal education in Spanish and Latin American Studies from James Madison University. She then served as the director for a bilingual division of Young Life, a non-profit organization that fosters faith, relationships, and leadership development in youth.
Vicky’s dreams of having an impact on Latin America are being fulfilled as she resides in Puerto Rico. Alongside her charity work, she is developing her own business as a licensed massage therapist. She enjoys spending time with the family dog, Wadi, as well as training for marathons and watching her favorite football team, the New York Giants. At the center of her life are her husband Mike and their twin girls,
Meadow RAIN and Sia ROSE.
Mike and Vicky’s life experiences have given them the desire as well as the ability to serve others. Witnessing the devastation of Hurricane Maria has given them direction for that desire. Their vision to help rebuild Puerto Rico has led them to launch the Rain and Rose Fund and promote a bright future for the beautiful island that they love.
